People interested
by Tomputer on Sep.24, 2009, under Uncategorized
Hi,
As everything comes together I’m sort of wondering who might want to have a board. Please remember that this is a development version of the board and it might well need some soldering rework before it comes to live. NO WARRANTY THAT IT WILL WORK. And silently I’m hoping that whoever buys this version of the board will be happy to contribute to its development.
Ok now that that’s out of the way here’s the list of people that might be interested in getting this dev version of the board. If you think your name should be on there then please let me know via e-mail or comments.

Vias in pad

Now all the parts, except the board, have been delivered I have to find out how to get these really tiny parts soldered on the PCB. If anyone has some great tuts available about howto place SMD caps, led diodes and other stuff like crystals etc. then please mail me.
To make the nightmare complete I’m reading the ‘Via in pad’ blog posts of Screaming Circuits… will my board ever work?
Cheers,
Tom

Yeay! Digikey delivered! Finally!
Now all essential component are there. I’m not ordering the batteries yet cuz they are not really necessary at the moment.
All what remains is that EuroCircuits delivers the board and the big assembly game can begin.

FINALLY!
The stuff I ordered from Digikey has been shipped. Estimated delivery is tomorrow. That a bummer cuz I will be at BruCon and can’t be there to accept it. Guess I’ll get it on Monday then.
Now all that’s left are the boards from EuroCircuits. Hope they will arrive soon.
Cheers,
Tom

How do you like my board assembly shop? Cute uh!
On this picture you can see the TV loupe (Twinkle Star from Tieman) showing a zoom in on the Atmel ARM7 of my proxmark3. In the mean time I’ve used the soldering station for the first time, to replace the battery on my old 1st gen iP0wn. Worked like a charm!

The status of the PCBs has changed; they’re in the production stage. That’s the last stage before being shipped.
New logo

With all the ranting about packages and crystals I almost forgot to mention that I whipped up a nifty logo yesterday. Well something good came out of a lazy Sunday. :-)
Here it is; every and all feedback welcome.

Crystals and packages
by Tomputer on Sep.14, 2009, under Uncategorized
Last Friday I contacted Farnell because they only send me the LEDs. The accompanying package note said the crystals were on backorder and did not mention anything about the solder paste. Well as it turns out the crystals would only be available in week 2 of 2010 ![]()
So I had to go with the only alternative they had on offer. A crystal of the same freq but with a different form factor. If anyone knows how to fit a component of 1.6 x 2.0 mm into a space of 2.0 x 2.5 mm then I would be happy to hear.
Main thing is that the crystals of the right frequency, I’ll make them fit later
.
If all goes well they should be delivered today, as so should some other packages.
Cheers,
Tom
